How Much Money Do I Need?
You will need to have access to £20,000 depending on the price of the property you are reserving. This will include legal and processing fees, stamp duty, title and land registry searches, the local VAT (or equivelent) and legal fees. Siroco Estates are currently offering investors the opportunity to buy property in Morocco for an initial investment of around £10,000 - investments at this level are rare, so please register if interested.
To reserve a property, a reservation deposit of between € 3,000 and € 4,000 is standard. depending on the developers. This can normally be taken on a refundable basis. ie. If you don't like the development when you come to view it you get your deposit back in full. This method is particularly usefull when you want to reserve a specific property or hold the current price.
The remainder of the 10 - 40 % deposit (depending on the development) is then payable within 30 days of making your decision to proceed with the purchase. The balance of money outstanding is due on completion of the development, usually by pre arranged mortgage. (subject to status)
